Sadly a couple of my recommendations are no longer available, Cossie & Co has closed down etc. So, as summer holidays have started (I swear the kids were on half term last week!?) I thought I’d do an updated edit before you all set off on holidays…
I always get asked about alternatives to Hunza G. Although the brand claim to fit every body they really don’t. I have had a swimsuit and a bikini from them and I find they fit me beautifully at the top but are not so flattering on the bottom. I have bought high street crinkle and the reality is the fabric doesn’t last more than one holiday. Friends have raved about YouSwim - I haven’t bought it myself - but I have seen friends in them and they look brilliant. Here are the swimsuits I own that work best for me
If you have any other swimwear recommendations please do share them in the comments. I think Boden does quite a good job if you like the wired styles - I don’t own any but they look great on friends. Lots of people rave about Cupshe which I don’t understand at all as I thought the quality was awful!
the hot mess' guide to the summer
I accepted a long time ago that my version of a “hot girl summer” is distinctly different to anyone who I’d classify as even mildly attractive. I’m not sure if its the thought of the summer that makes me hot and sweaty or summer itself but either way something happens to my body when the temperature rises and it isn’t pretty.

My personal favourite is the Australian brand, Seafolly. Supportive in all the right places, and lots of great cuts that are very flattering. I can no longer wear the little string bikinis I find in little stores in Bali or Brazil or Tulum, and now need all the support I can get.
