everything i've worn recently
In this "in-betweener" weather here's 12 outfits I've worn recently, from woolly jumpers to new things for spring.
Well, well, well - it’s March. Not sure about but I am in full spring refresh mode. Everything needs a sort out, from cupboards to closets. Not even my face has been spared; this week I had polynucleotides for the first time. I posted about it on Instagram, here, if you’re interested but I am so, so happy with the results. I was tired of looking… tired. More than anything I really like how my concealer stays looking dewy as my skin no longer goes well crepe-paper-like. If you know, you really know.
I love dressing at this time of year, even if the weather does throw us some curve balls. Generally speaking its a great time for layering, accessories and comfortable fabrics. So lets get into it - here are the details for the outfits featured:
outfit 1
I bought the Arket Snow jean a month or so ago and am thrilled with them. They’re a slick, straight leg (available in 4 colours, I am very tempted by the blue) and fit true to size. I’ve got my trusty Jigsaw cashmere knit on (think this might be my favourite buy of 2024, I’ve had so much wear out of it, it’s 40% off now) with the Lululemon tee as it’s a brilliant neck height to pair under jumper (going by the rule set by
about adding white tees to basic outfits). Smartened it up with black accessories - my belt is here and the loafers were a treat to myself two years ago, love them. Here are a very good high street alternative though.outfit 2
This is the coat I’ve had more messages about than any other item of clothing. I wish Jigsaw would bring it back, I could have resold this 20 times over. I was on my way to work here and have an M&S collared knit and gorgeously comfortable Beyond Nine cords on which are possibly the most comfortable (yet work appropriate) trousers I own.

I love the jacket, another M&S find. Paired (again) with the chocolate knit but this time I put a very thin denim shirt on underneath which - when paired with my COS indigo jeans - was the closest I’ve got to double denim in a while. I think I was going for a Yellowstone look here. The jean are perfect if you’re looking for a smart pair - the tapered cut is really sharp and the colour is dark enough to pass as an evening-wear thing as well as daytime.
outfit 4
A full M&S look from head to toe. I need to break out of jeans, so bought this black midi skirt. I love it with tailored (waist enhancing) tailored pieces, and am thrilled with this bargain chocolate linen waistcoat. I was trying some new shoes out for this picture, not quite warm enough for them but I love the open raffia ballet slippers I’m seeing everywhere and these were £19.95!
outfit 5
Wearing the snow jean again. The belt is from Celine, I’ve worn it to death since I bought it. I layered it with my denim shirt, a khaki army jacket (from Arket, past season, and bought second hand but found here). The tee is one of my favourites, I have them in black and white and wear them to death. The shoes are loafers from M&S, everyone in Britain is wearing them.
outfit 6
First, the coat. It is from Jigsaw, as are all my favourite ones. They do them so well and they’re so well made. This one is 5/6 years old and like new. The long sleeve cotton top is from Zara, it’s quite heavy weighted and comes in very handy. Jeans are new from Abercrombie, the loose fit. Really thrilled with them but wish I’d sized down as they’ve given a little bit. I wasn’t sure loose jeans would work on me but the cut is great and they don’t drown me at all.
outfit 7
The cardigan is new from Aligne, a gift from the brand. I am so happy with it, especially after getting so much wear from their navy one last season. Trousers are from Sezane - if you are looking for a simple, smart, comfy pair of black trousers I cannot recommend the Clara’s enough. Buy your regular size.
outfit 8
Chuffed to find this knit second hand, I love Hush knits so much (check out their Row-like one here for a delightful price). I’ve paired it here with some new copper barrel jeans from ME+EM, they’re so soft it’s almost like wearing a tracksuit. I’ve got my new Jordan belt on - my second one and still can’t believe the quality for under £90. The trainers are all down to
; she said everyone would be wearing Speedcats this season. I couldn’t find them anywhere in this colour so ended up getting them via eBay. Very happy with them, they’re so comfortable! Find them in black here.outfit 9
Wearing *the* barrel trousers from Uniqlo. At £39.99 I don’t think you can go wrong, I have the green pair too (they also come in a navy). My grey tee is a very good find from M&S (slipped it into the food shop without it being noticed, win). It’s a lovely, heavy fabric that fits really nicely and excellent for the price. Paired with my denim shirt (which is now over 40% off, a bargain as it is so structured it almost works as a jacket too) and dark brown belt (the Jordan again) and my bargain £38 mary janes.
outfit 10
I think I could have done a little better here, too many shades of brown going on. However, I do love my shirt which was very much worth the investment. Size wise, size down. The jeans were a steal from The Outnet, £43! I took Karen (the bag) out for a spin with it all, with the M&S loafers.
outfit 11
The item of note here is the cardigan, which is new. When it arrived I wasn’t sure, but when I put it on I realised how useful it was going to be. It’s really good quality and perfect for these “will-it-rain-will-it-be-cold-?” days. My long sleeve top is from Alex mill, finally upgraded to a quality basic and have no regrets, it’s noticeably much nicer than my H&M ones.

…and here she is in full spring mode! I nearly sold these trousers as I wasn’t wearing them over the winter and now we’ve got some brighter weather I am so pleased I didn’t. They’re from Damson Madder, not a brand I shop with often as it’s all very colourful for me but I love these pants. Paired it with a really good tee from Arket, I have a couple in this shape and they’re great.
