everything i wore in greece
I went to Greece for a week with a girlfriend and her family (plus a couple of solo touristing days in Athens). Here's everything I took with me...
Packing with any law and order is something pretty new to me. But as so many airlines want to charge more to transport your suitcase in the hold than to take you in a seat, I’m learning to go “cabin bag” on trips. For somewhere like Greece it’s a lot easier, as lugging big cases on and off ferries to islands is less than ideal. I invested in a large size cabin case, learnt that rolling your clothes means they don’t crease and you have more space - and bought my favourite beauty products are miniatures (more on that on my Instagram).
To make life easier I stuck to a colour palette, it means you can mix and match a lot more easily. I chose neutrals, blues and greens (pretty much my palette all the time) and went with brown leathers across the board so that my belt, shoes and handbag matched with everything.
Greece is a very laid back destination (unless you go to Mykonos, when you may as well say you’re going to any European hotspot, which is a lot dressier and overrun with tourists rather than having a local feel). It’s still very warm in the evenings so you don’t want anything too tight, and the streets are usually cobbled or uneven so heels are a no go either. I only took my New Balance 550s (which I travelled in) as they were very handy for hikes to further afar beaches, and my Zara sandals.
